Belmullet Golf Course is also known by the name of Carn, this is yet another world's end course, with impressive views over the rocky coast to the north of Mayo and Blacksod Bay. It is also one of the most recent designs by the world famous Eddie Hackett. The course is very hilly, so we would advise a buggy for all seniors if they want to keep a cool head.

Everyone else would be well advised to study the course closely, because a lot of shots and greens turn blind if you are too far off the fairway, and the eight doglegs are difficult to cope with if you don't get the right distance and angle for the green. Belmullet is an exciting prospect in match play, because miracles are as frequent as disasters.

However, this course is not to everyone's liking, especially to players who like parks with a pretty castle in the middle, but it is an essential experience in a site very exposed to the wind.
