Whilst on my recent stay in Dublin, I came across this fine traditional Irish restaurant, and couldn't let it go without saying just a few words about it.
Located in Dublin's Temple Bar area, this restaurant celebrates the finest in Irish cuisine in an atmosphere that is both contemporary and timeless, cosmopolitan and nostalgic.
Whilst inspired by tradition in its presentation, the Boxty house serves unique Irish food, presented in a contemporary European context.
Boxty, or "Aran boct ti", has been around almost as long as the potato itself. Just like "Champ" and "Colcannon", boxty is a part of a unique tradition in Irish food.
Gallagher's Boxty House serves light Boxty pancakes, cooked on a hot griddle their boxty pancakes can be served with a selection of different fillings, each soaked in unique sauces.
As well as Boxty filled with beef, lamb and chicken, boiled bacon and cabbage and fish, there are soups, stews, Irish beef steaks, oak smoked salmon, seafood and vegetarian dishes.
At Gallagher's Boxty House, you can sit and enjoy your food in an atmosphere as warming as an old Irish Kitchen. The Boxty house offers food as natural as Paella in Valencia, Moussaka in Athens, or Pasta in Milano.
