Lahinch golf course was designed by Old Tom Morris and Alistair MacKenzie. This scenic links course has long been established as one of the great Irish courses of the South West.

Despite being visually compared to Ballybunion, Lahinch golf course is not quite as challenging however knowledge of the course is particularly useful in locating the hazards and relating to the sand dunes.

The 5th and 6th holes are rather extraordinary with the first a par 5 where the second shot has to fly over a large dune, the latter a par 3 with a blind green.
