In verdant splendour amongst the lush undulating countryside that softly rises over the timeless River Lee, in the Vale of the Yew Tree ( Gaelic, Clashanure ) nestles Cork's Golfing Paradise, the superb 18 hole, par 72 championship golf course that is The Lee Valley Golf & Country Club.

Expertly designed by Christy O'Connor Jnr, this course is challenging and enjoyable no matter what your ability, for it poses problems that can be strict for Masters and yet less difficult for the casual golfer. At Lee Valley they say "To shoot par is demanding, to shoot bogey is comfortable".

From every carefully manicured green, panoramic vistas of breath-taking beauty unfold as the eye wanders over the Great Plain of Cork. As it reaches to the horizon from where almost all the great mountain peaks and ranges of Munter can be viewed as they stretch in a near unbroken line from Kerry in the west to Waterford.

Lee Valley Golf and Country Club "Not just a Golf Course but a Golfing Experience" Puisheog Corner

While none will doubt that Lee Valley contains many outstanding holes, you will convince yourself that the 12th, 13th and 14th are truly magical. These three captivating holes from part of what is known as Puisheog Corner from the Gaelic (Puisheog, meaning something endowed with magical properties). For it's here in this southerly corner of the course, one is compelled to negotiate their way round a magical Fairy Fort.

Local folklore legends abound as to the origins of the magical properties of this part of the course, but for all visiting golfers a complimentary history in leaflet form is available.

Mystique. With the rich heritage and folklore of the land in this beautiful natural setting coupled with an excellent 18 hole championship course leaves no doubt as to the very successful future of LEE VALLEY Golf & Country Club.
